NOBLE COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD

MINUTES OF DECEMBER 7, 2016 MEETING

Present: Ray Scott, Scott Allen, James Haddock, John Metzger, Doug Keenan.

Guests: Steve Hook, Noble County GIS, Matt Getts, KPC Media.

The December 7, 2016 meeting of the Noble County Parks and Recreation Board was called to order at 10:05 AM by President Ray Scott.

The Minutes of the October 26, 2016 meeting were approved as sent.

Old Business:

Park Board Member. Tom Janes will be presenting a possible Board Member to the County Council.

Web Site. Scott Allen has been updating the Website, and is working on a new provider to host the website. The link will change when we switch to the new provider.

New Business:

Take a Stroll Saturdays for 2017. Tentative dates and locations for Take a Stroll Saturdays were determined as follows:

May 27 – Parkview Noble Hospital trail.

June 24 – Hidden Diamonds Park, Albion.

July 22 – Elkhart River Canoe/Kayak Event.

August 26 – Noble Trails, Beginning at Detering Preserve.

September 23 – Merry Lea Environmental Center.

October 28 – Fishing Line Trail.

Promotion for these events was discussed. Posters at fitness centers and libraries, flyers to distribute would help with publicity. Also, partnering with other organizations will help get the information out.
