2024 Spring Summit held at Wawaka park
More than a dozen Noble County leaders came together for the Noble County Parks and Recreation Spring Summit, held at the new Elkhart Township Hall in Wawaka, on April 25, 2024.
Participants enjoyed a guided tour, courtesy of Elkhart Township Trustee Donna Schwartz, of the Elkhart Township Park. The group learned about the new community hall, two ball diamonds, concessions building, walking trail, and pavilion. These amenities are available for public use daily from dawn to dusk, and private rentals can be booked as well, at very reasonable daily rates.
In addition to several stakeholder updates about their activities happening across the county, opportunities for individuals to enjoy the great outdoors, and educational programs supporting nature, fitness, recreation, and conservation, attendees participated in conversations to help inform the development of a new 5-Year Plan for the Noble County Parks and Recreation Board.
